After a couple days, the macro bar just stopped working with the Elgato software. I could program them directly through iCue, but even that was hit or miss. Sometimes they'd do what I'd set, sometimes they did something completely random.
Next was the random bluetooth cutouts, followed by complete system lock a couple minutes later that required forced power cycling.
The laptop also sounds like a jet taking off all the time if there's even the slightest load on it. Even with the Quiet profile, it still ramps up quite a bit.
Even at Extreme cooling, the heat gets so bad that you can forget about using it in clamshell mode and gaming on a bigger monitor. The heat exhaust goes straight up into the screen if you have it closed. I tried that once and after ten minutes the screen was so hot that it nearly burned my finger when I tested it.
It's a gorgeous laptop. The keyboard is second to none. The trackpad is definitely high quality. It's just such a shame that Corsair doesn't seem to care about fixing all the bugs.

Original review:
I was all set to buy a Dell XPS 17 for nearly $2800 when I saw this beast on sale for only $1799. I'd watched the Linus Tech Tips review of it and remembered drooling over all the features, and then losing interest when they pointed out that the XPS was slightly better, and cheaper, since Corsair cost over $3000. Luckily I checked on this first and pulled the trigger on it.
I'm sure the XPS is better than this in most ways, for most users, but I love the tall screen and the stream deck macro buttons. I have to send a lot of canned emails to clients throughout the day, and I hate having to open my template folder, copy, change tabs, and paste. Now, I can load the 10 I use most commonly right into the buttons, and replies are now almost instant. The 32GB ram also means I can have a ton of spreadsheets open all at once, even on Chrome!, without having my computer bog down.
Oh, and it's decent for gaming too, at least for me since I don't play every new release that comes along. I can play Fallout 4, Destiny 2, and Cyberpunk 2077 on max or near-max settings.
There are some cons though. The fans are LOUD when gaming. I've never owned a high end gaming laptop before so I don't know how common this is.
The sound is good. Not great. For having two rather large speakers on either side of the keyboard, and since it advertises Dolby Atmos, I expected better. I'd put it about on par with my 2020 iPad.
The webcam. Oh the webcam. This laptop is designed and marketed for streamers. I expected the webcam to be top notch. (Ha!) It's not. My little logitech webcam that I paid $50 for 5 years ago is better. The mic is ok, but even a basic office headset is much better. Don't buy this laptop if you are specifically looking for a streamer-quality camera.
Typing is half awesome, half annoying. I love that the keyboard is mechanical, and feels pretty much like shallow browns. My problem with it is that there is absolutely no angle to the keyboard, and no feet on the bottom of the laptop to raise it at an angle. I'm pretty sure there are products I can look into to help raise the laptop, and that will also help with the cooling/fans. But for a $3000+ retail product, it's almost criminal there aren't even any basic feet nubbins at all. Correction: there are two raised ridges on the bottom, but they are level with each other. It does lift the laptop slightly off of the desk surface, but since they are level with each other there is no comfortable angle given to the keyboard.
This is just a day 2 review. I will update as time goes on. As for my 5-star rating, that is considering the sale price I paid for it. If I had paid $3000 before tax, I'd probably be having some buyer's remorse. If I was going to pay that much, I'd go with the Dell XPS 17 specced all the way out.
/ the 240hz Qhd+ panel , looks beautiful , great brightness and colors
/ the keyboard , mechanical low profile , feels amazing and the RGB is sooo beautiful
/ general construction , aluminum chasis , it feels tough , makes it look magnificent
/ the macro keys , those 10 macros helps a lot when you bind them with applications and stuff.
First , the screen is more than enough for content creators , and for games is orgasmic , AAA games , esports , entertainment , just perfect
The keyboard is amazing , when u press it gives u a soft feeling but u feel sure that u press it , million times better than a membrane keyboard
Just that , is a really refined cool and fascinating construction
I use the macros for streaming , like to open obs ,disable and able the microfone , open the notepad xD , i found it so great to use , but ..... there is a BIG problem with it .
As i said , it is a unique laptop , and some unique issues with it , like the icue software for the macros and that little screen , the keyboard , u HAVE to download some drivers for each one or they'll be really buggy and they wont work perfect , but u can found them in the official corsair page , and , the biggest problem with the laptop is that , drivers , the most difficult part updating was the gpu drivers with the AMD software , u have to download the drivers from corsair not from amd , and u have to install the AMD software and make some wird changes , like the smart access memory that switches the integrated with the real gpu , that does not work great some times , you'll have to play a little bit with the options not just in global , with games like counter strike 2 you'll have to check what goes better with the game and if the AMD software let u even just pass from the apu to the gpu or if it admits to use the 240hz , sometimes it tells u that u dont have an internal display , u have and external display and when that happens it wont let u use the AMD technology's like freesync an FSR . I was like the first 3 days with it solving this things and it was really uncomfortable and difficult to do, but here is why i give this 4 Stars and personally 4.5 Stars.
(another mid complain is that it has 3 usb type c (with thunderbolt 3 compability , really good) and just one usb a , actually thats just dumb but , not a reaaally big problem at list for me)
After i solve all this unique problems, i start testing it in games like cs , fornite , gta 5 , genshin impact , gow 2018 , rendering 4k videos and streaming and , HOLY MAMA, i dont know if it is because this is my first ever laptop (come from a rtx 3070 desktop so thats the performance im use to) but this much POWER , in such a light portable but great size laptop ,cs2 220 fps constantly, fornite pretty much the same in esport setting, gta all ways around 100 120 fps with high, genshin no problem, 60 fps in gow like nothing, rendering a 10 minuts 4k 60 fps video lasted like 6 minuts so not bad, netflix u know, series very enjoyable, thers no complaint about the performance , does everything u can think and so fast , maybe something , it gets really hot like u have to use to 80-85 degrees celsius and because of the aluminum building u cant hold it , you'll burn , but apart of that just 10/10 in performance.
resume: i love it , powerful beautiful and useful, but its not for anybody for the software issues , with that solve infinite/10

1. Display is 6 bit color depth at 240hz.
2. Speakers are weak, even for gaming laptops.
3. Fans have a whine that just triggers you lol.
4. Fan Hub never shown up in ICUE, ever. After fresh install of windows they were just gone, even with installing all the stock apps provided.
5. All drivers on website are over 8 months old. That wouldn't be a problem, except the internal display will go black with the most up to date software for the video card unless you turn off hybrid mode.
6. Support is by far sub par and weak. No updates, no clear communication to the community on fixes. It feels like they have abandoned it.
It's a shame. The hardware is good. For 1700, this would be a solid choice if you just had proper driver support.
To think they wanted to put a 3k price tag on this on release with that sub par monitor. Just a joke.
The laptop runs warm all the time, but it doesn't throttle. It handles heat well for its size! I will say that. The keyboard is amazing, and the overall package is very well done.
The software breaks it for me. I wasted days reinstalling windows, and AMD drivers, trying to find work arounds. I eventually gave up.
If you use this laptop as a desktop replacement, and keep in dedicated mode, it's a solid choice. You can download the most up to date drivers and ignore Corsair.
At this price point though... the whole point of buying AMD is battery life.....
You have better options out there. And Corsair needs to buckle down and do right by the people that already bought this thing.
